Little Italy Coffee Roasters offers two distinct Barista Training courses.
The first serves as an excellent introduction to basic barista skills, providing students with the fundamental knowledge to start their barista journey. The second course takes an intermediate approach, refining existing skills and focusing on more advanced latte art and milk texturing techniques. The “Becoming a Barista” (Beginners Training Course) covers several essential topics. Students will learn about coffee extraction, including how to identify under and over-extracted coffee.
The course also delves into adjusting the grinder, covering grind size, dosage, and correct tamping techniques. Understanding the espresso menu, different types of coffees, and related terminology is another key aspect of the training. Furthermore, students will be taught milk fundamentals, focusing on various techniques. The course concludes with instruction on equipment maintenance, emphasizing proper cleaning and coffee bean storage practices.
